Boley makes a wide variety of toys, including it's Dept 1-87; vehicles and figures at 1-87 scale. Dept 1-87 offers a wide variety of vehicle types from fire engines, to construction vehicles, to military. Boley vehicles are inexpensive ($2-$8) and are favored by model railroaders.

The WWII series offer several options for paint. I like the camouflage paint on the M36 and the Sherman. The M5 looks good in basic green. I am not fond of the camouflage on the German tanks. I would stick with the basic gray. Unlike the modern series, the WWII tanks come without markings, so be prepared to add your own decals/markings.

In late 2004, the German company Schuco started marketing several of these tanks under the "Edition 1:87 Metal" name. DO NOT BE FOOLED, they are still made of plastic, not diecast metal!
