Minichamps is the brand name for models from Paul's Model Art of Aachen, Germany. The company was founded by Paul-Gunter Lang in 1990, and produced road cars and racing cars at 1/43 and 1/18 scale. The first 1/35 military model premiered in 2000.
The distributor for North America is Minichamps North America, Inc., and these models can be purchased through any number of model shops. The going price for new releases is $79-$99. The best price I have found is $52.00. As the models sell out, the price goes up! Minichamps tanks are HEAVY diecast metal. They have very good exterior detail, and include a working suspension. Overall a very high quality model for the serious collector.
My favorites are the Tiger, T-34, Abrams, and Leopard. The detail is superb!

Minichamps is one of the best models out available for metal content. These tanks are predominantly metal, with a minimal amount of plastic detail. They are also one of the HEAVIEST models available!

Danbury mint has also released this very nice pewter version of the Sherman tank at approximately 1:50 scale. It is very well done with excellent detail. It also appears to be out of production, and fairly rare.
