Motor
Force
(Marz Karz,
Polyfect, BuddyL,
DSI?)
Motor Force made (at least) 6 tanks in this series. Scales range from 1:100 to 1:120. These tanks diecast, with rubber treads, and are 'free wheeling', which means that under the tank are four wheels, allowing the tank to roll on flat surfaces. The diagnostic feature of this tank is the number on the base of the tank. The base is labeled S.XXXX (where XXXX is a number, like '8125') with the type of tank underneath the number (e.g. 'Tiger'). The bottom of the tank also is marked "made in Hong Kong".
These tanks are not exactly common, but can be found on occasion for $2-3.

Other versions of the same tanks
In the 1970's (?) these tanks were also released under the name Marz Karz. The tanks were released by Summer Metal Products. The tanks were packaged on a green card with a wide yellow stripe on the top. Marz Karz was in predominantly blue lettering, and three blue stars were located below the letters.
The Patton tank may have been re-released by a company named DSI. The hull of the two tanks appears virtually identical. The plastic turret has very slight differences (a small indentation for the machine gun on the Motor Force version). DSI released a series of tanks in the early 1990's, all in the brown camo scheme.
Tanks using the Motor Force molds have also been released by still yet another manufacturer. According to Stephen B., this release is made by "...Polyfect Toys, which is headquartered in Hong Kong. Family Dollar stores are selling multi-packs of Polyfect military toys (alongside packs of other Polyfect die-cast toys) under the brand name "Mega Racer". The Military pack includes three 35mm army men, a Jeep about to scale to the Army men, a die-cast helicopter (Cayuse, Kiowa or MBB Bo105) and a die-cast tank. I haven't seen a Tiger in any of the packs I've seen, but I'm fairly sure I've seen all the others. I guess I just haven't been in enough Family Dollars." Thanks Stephen!
These tanks are painted gloss olive green and the markings are different than the Motor Force release. Marked on the turret is the tank number, preceded by the letter H (e.g. the Tiger has H8125 on the turret). The decals also differ. For example, the Char AMX has USA military markings (rather than French). Another big difference is the the bottom of the tank. The tank model number does not have an "S." preceding the number. Further, the type of tank is not listed on the bottom, and these tanks are made in China, rather than Hong Kong.
In 2006, BuddyL (Imperial Toy Corp) released the Tiger under the BuddyL logo.
