TinToys (also Lido) released a series of small scale (1:100?) and larger scale tanks in the 1970's and 1980's. They are typically characterized with W.T. followed by a three digit number found on the base of the model (e.g. W.T. 320). TinToys also manufactured a variety of diecast cars and military aricraft.
The tanks are diecast metal with plastic accessories and rubber treads. They are "free wheeling" with four wheels in the base allowing the tank to roll. The tanks were released under the TinToys name. Four of the tanks are 1:100 scale, and at least four larger tanks released (see below). The larger tanks range from 1:50 to 1:83. The larger tanks are also free wheeling. The remaining tanks seem to be about 1:72 to 1:90, i.e. smaller scale. Someday I will measure them all and determine the scale of each :-)
TinToys also made a series of (at least) four armoured cars: Saladin Mk II. M8, BTR 40, and Daimler MK II. These are also smaller scale (1:100?)
These tanks were
also distributed by Imperial Toy (1974) and under the Mighty
Midget name. The Mighty Midget tanks were imported by George
Borgfeldt & Co. of New York, a well known imported of toys (including
kewpie dolls and teddy bears) from the 1920's through the 1960's (?). The Mighty Midget box mentions 8 different tanks five of
which were the Chieftain, Char AMX 30, Tiger, and M551 Sheridan,
and the Daimler scout car.

Canadian Tire Corporation released several of the Tin Toys models as promotional items. Two I had not seen before were the Jeep and the Ambulance
According to Kimmo Sahakanga, Tintoys models were also issue under the "Tins' Toys" name. One of the key differences being the model number prefix. Tintoys were release with the "WT" prefix, Tins' Toys with the "T" prefix. Below are some pictures of the Tin's Toys Super Tank series, courtesy of Mark Foster.
