8/17/2008 Added pictures of several Goebel models to my Recognition Models page. Goebels are ceramic WWII era models used by the Germans on sand tables- maps of terrain showing the disposition of Allied and Axis forces. I  have added pictures of a long barrel Panzer IV, short barrel Panzer IV,, long halftrack, short halftrack, a second panther in my collection, a T-34 and a KV 1.
8/11/2008 On my Recognition Models page, I added several pictures of Comet Metal Products "ships on sticks", one of the earliest sets of Comet ID models. I also added a small section on Bessarabis, with pictures of a German Wolf Class ship.
8/08/2008 On the Zylmex page I added pictures of the 2 packs from 1993. I also added a picture of the "motorized" Centurion from Alan. On the Johnny Lightning page I added a halftrack and ambulance from the Battle of the Bulge release. On the DeAgostini page I added a Panhard VBL and Trattorre TK35.
6/30/2008 Several updates and corrections to my Comet Metal Products page based upon two articles from the New Yorker Magazine, and extensive research sent to me by Fred Dorris. Many thanks to Fred!
6/29/2008 On the Forces of Valor 1/72 page I added pictures of the Dragon Wagon transporter. On the Dragon page I added the SU100, SU85 (this HAS to be a mislabel by Dragon, because it looks identical to the SU100!) and the Sherman - "Tulip".
6/15/2008 On the Hobby Master page I added pictures of the JS-2 (1:48), Pershing and T55 (both 1:72). On the New Millennium page I added a picture of the repaint of the 1:48 Panzer IV.
6/6/2008 On the Catalogs page, I added the 1996 CDC Armour catalog, a 1966 Dinky catalog, and the 2007 Forces of Valor brochure.On the Dragon page, I added the SU 100, and SU 85 (looks like an SU 100 to me!), and the Sherman "Tulip".
6/1/2008 On the 21st Century page, I added the Priest, Marder, and 38(t). The details on the Priest and Marder are very good! The 38(t) is a nice model, if only because it is not so common. On the Easy Model page I added a BTR-80. On the Admiral page, I added the Panzer II M with side skirts. The best Admiral model to date!
12/26/2007 I added a new type of tank to the Zylmex page. "Motorized tanks" - pictures of the M60, Type 90, and Centurion have been posted. On the Hobby Master page I added photos of the Cromwell, Centaur, KV-1 and KV-2.
12/25/2007 On the New Millennium, page I added photos of the Panzer IV Ausf D, Panzer IV Ausf H, and the Wirbelwind. On the Other page I added several military vehicles from Siku, including a tank, tank with transporter, hummer, and others.
12/24/2007 Big update to the Del Prado section - I added a Carro Armato, Chi Ha, Churchill, King Tiger, Leopard, Sherman Easy 8, Stuart, T34/76 and a T34/85. On the Dragon Armor page I added a Sherman E8 and a Pioneerpanzerwagen. Finally, on the DeAgostini page I added Panhard 178.
12/23/2007 To the Benbro's page I added #30 in the Mighty Midget series, an Army Wagon (truck). I added fictures of some Comet Gaeltacht pictures to the Comet Metal Products page. On the Corgi Showcase page, I added picks of a WWII halftrack, M1A1 Abrams and King Tiger in a very nice camo color scheme! On the Corgi WWII page I added a section for the Corgi Skirmish section (Vehicles and figures) and pictures of the Sherman and Cromwell tanks. On the Minichamps page I added pictures of the new Centurion and the T72A/M1. Finally,. on the DeAgostini page I added pictures of the Australian jeep (which sports a different camo job from it's Victoria precursor) and a Fiat Iveco.
12/20/2007 Mark E. has submitted a review of the 2nd release of the Forces of Valor 1/16 Tiger. Thanks Mark! I added a list of Australian airplane recognition models to the Recognition Models page (thanks Bryan B.!). I also added pictures of a Cruver Air Speed computer, pictures of plans/instructions distributed to high school students in WWI to build ID models, and scans from the British Aircraft Recognition magazine from WWII.
11/25/2007 I added a new page dedicated to Larami Toys tanks. These are similar in appearance to the Zylmex tanks, but are definitely a different casting. I have included pictures of the King Tiger, JS III, M60, Sheridan, and AMX 30. I also added a new Del Prado page, with a Chaffee tank.
11/20/2007 Several additions to the Recognition Models page. I added Framburg a PZKW2 and a PZKW2 command tank (Thanks to Spinnin4s) and a Framburg Amphibious tank (Thanks to Brit). I added a black and white poster of the Cruver recognition models poster (large scale scan). I also added pics from the British and Japanese recognition card packs, and some information on Recognition Journal, published during the war.  I added recognition cards from the 70's and 80's. I also added some information on Japanese attempts at Recognition training. I updated the section on the Aircraft Warning Service, including scans from the training manual and spotter cards. Finally, John D. provided pictures of a wood Panther tank, of German origin.
11/10/2007 Big update on the DeAgostini page. I have added Puma, Lancia Lince, Gaz 67B (Russian Jeep), Italian Sahariana, Ansalado AB41, Camionetta Morris armored truck, TP71 Fuchs amphibious vehicle, Lancia Ansalado, and a Range Rover 110.
8/18/2007 On the Recognition Models page I added pictures of a Japanese Amphibious tank made in Australia for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. An interesting tank made of ceramic Thanks Russell!. I also added a section on the civilian AWS (Aircraft Warning Service) - a civilian spotting organization which helped to protect the US during WWII . On the Easy Model page, I added pictures for two different T-34/76s. On the Motor Force page I added pics for two more variations - A Tiger from BuddyL (circa 2006) and a Motor Force 4 pack, including a Patton tank, Helicopter, Airplane, and Jeep. On the Other Page, I added a pick of the Military Muscle Machine DUKW
8/12/2007 I added several pictures of modern Recognition Models from Fort Knox, including a Bradley, Russian BTR, M113, T-62, Centurion, and a Leopard. Thanks Sue! On the New Millennium page I added pictures of the repaints of Series 1 and the new models of Series 2.

7/22/2007 On the Real Tanks page I added pictures of an M48, M60A1, M42 Duster, Pershing, M113, T-55 from Battleship Park in Mobile Alabama. On the Recognition Models page, I added a photo of an actual WWII class using ID models, pictures of the Framburg 1:500 ship model Fiji, comparison pictures between the Framburg 1:500 and 1:1200 versions of the Fiji, pics of a Framburg M3 Grant and a Priest (thanks Mike), pictures of my own Dale Models  Priest and (my second) T-17, pictures of the South Salem Models Arkansas (1:1200), and finally several pictures of Cruver small scale aircraft (German ME 210, Arado, HS 129; Japanese Lilly; and a Russian SB 3).  On the Comet Metal Products page I added several pictures of soldiers designed by Holger Eriksson when he was with Authenticast.
6/2/2007 On the Catalogs page I now have scans of the tanks and military vehicles pages for all 7 Comet Metal Products Authenticast Catalogs. Thanks to Fred Dorris for scans of Catalog 6, and Jerry B for the opportunity to acquire his collection.  I  also added scans of the photos of the Hawk, Honest John, and Nike Missile launchers to the Authenticast page. On the Altaya page I added pictures of the Type 61, Puma, M21 halftrack, Le Clerc, KV-1E, Cromwell Mk IV, Challenger, and C1 Areite tanks.
5/6/2007 On the 21st Century page I added pictures of the Cold Steel Sherman with the green Sherman with the tri-color brown to yellow stripe camo. On the Easy Model page I added pictures of the Challenger II, 2 Sherman Easy 8's (one with a Tiger face), 2 Sherman M4's, A Sherman M4A1 (with a cast hull, not welded!), and a German 12.8 cm Selbstfahrlafette (Self propelled gun). I also added some comparison pictures to a Matchbox collectibles Sherman (CDC Armor reissue).
4/28/2007 On the Authenticast page, I added a picture of the Ontos (#5197) Thanks Bill C!. I created a new page for Hobby Master, and added pictures for the Abrams, Tiger, and King Tiger tanks. Very nice models. On the Other page, I added pictures of the MidgeToy Sherman, 1/2 ton truck, and 1/2 ton halftrack.
4/15/2007 On the New Millennium page I added a section on the 1:43 vehicles, with pictures of the Jeep (command car) Dodge Weapons carrier, Kubelwagen, Schwimmwagen, and German Staff car. I added a section comparing the 1:43 to the Sun Star/Vitesse 1:43. I also added pictures of the 1:18 RC Panzer IV. On the Comet Metal Products Page I added more information about the Korean War years I gleaned from a Time Magazine article on Comet, as well as information regarding the sale of Comet. On my Authenticast Tanks page I added pictures  of a Weasel (5161), Scout Car (5162), and trailer (5184)
3/31/2007 I added 2 Hummers, #3110 Tank Hunter and # 3117 Armed Cargo Carrier to the CDC Armour page. On the Forces of Valor 1/72  page I have pics of the cool German halftrack: the KFZ 251 and of the M113. Finally, on the Corgi Showcase page, I added a M3 Halftrack (special weapons). By the way, all the Corgi Showcase (and some Solido) items on eBay featuring my pictures are not being sold by me, but are being used without my permission.  I know I can contact eBay, but it is happening so frequently now, it is no longer worth the effort. Just wanted you guys to know - BUYER BEWARE!   :-(
3/17/2007 On my Recognition Models Page, I added pictures of a different version of the Dale Models Sherman, and comparison photos of the Framburg Sherman, and early Dale Models Sherman and a Late Dale Models Sherman (and a short discussion as to the differences). I also added pictures of a Dale Models Jeep and M3 with a 75 mm gun, and more pictures of my Dale Model DUKW.
3/10/2007 Updated my DeAgostini page with pictures of two LAV Piranhas, and two US Halftracks with excellent detail! I also added additional information on the relationship between DeAgostini and Shuco, Doyousha, and Edison Giocatolli. I added a new page on Victoria, with pictures and information on Vitesse/Victoria, MaxiCar, Doyusha, Sun Star, New Millennium (and DeAgostini) - another complicated story of sold companies and re-issued models! Included are pictures of an Amphibious Jeep, UN Jeep, WC57 Command Car, Hummer, several version of the "Liberation De Paris Jeep", and comparison photos of the New Millennium releases to the Victoria/SunStar/MaxiCar releases...they are not quite the same.
3/4/2007 On the Recognition Models page, I put pictures of an assembled FW 190 Silhouette model. I also added info and pictures on the civilian version of the models: Sil-O-Model
3/3/2007 On my Other page I have some picture of a very nice 1:35 carved wood M48. I have also added several other odds and ends to this page. I add a Forces of Valor catalog page, where I consolidated my brochures and added the six page fold out catalog from 2006. Get to it through the Catalogs page. On the Solido page, I added a bit on Hatchette, another a point reseller of Solido in Europe. On the Johnny Lightning Page I added pictures of the two Jeeps, one from the Saturday Evening Post series and one from the Coca-Cola Calendar Girls series. Both are WWII military jeeps. On the Zylmex page, I added a picture of a Danish version of the Zylmex Sherman (thanks Alan!). Finally, I made some navigation improvements to the 21st Century page.
2/4/2007 On the Forces of Valor page, I added Mark E.'s review and pictures of the FOV Extreme Metal 1:16 Tiger tank! Thanks Mark! On the Catalogs page, I added military vehicles from the 1963 Solido catalog. On the Dragon Can.Do page I added pictures of one of the German railcar sets, with a armored rail car, a panzer on a flatcar, and a boxcar (in the "Giant Armor" section). I also added a Nashorn, a Hummel, and a 38t to the Can.Do page. Finally, on the Dragon Armor page, I have added pictures of the captures Sturmtiger with US GI's, Challenger II, German halftrack Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf G (nice details), One Jagdpanzer IV/L48, Two Jagdpanzer IV/L70's, a Stug IV, a Stug IV with side skirts, and a captures T34/76.
12/31/2006 I added a USAAF version of a silhouette model to the Recognition models page. I also added a new section other recognition aides, and added some nice images of recognition posters, including some great WWII posters used to identify tanks and armour, as well as aircraft.
12/17/2006 Added pictures of a WWII vintage Panzer IV Rodach ID model Courtesy of John. I also added WWI German Churchill ID model Courtesy of Ted - Both on my Recognition models page.
12/11/2007 Sergeant Rock Centurion to Uniborn page. I update the Matchbox and the Universal pages with information and pictures on the Matchbox Commando Series from 1989. Universal owned Matchbox at this time and put out a limited series of Military vehicles. I added pictures of two Playart Fastwing Airplanes to the Playart page. I added pictures of the BMW Afrika Corps motorcycle and a picture of a spitfire? to the Polistil page. The BMW is a very nice WWII model! Finally, on the Solido page, I added a picture of the Solido 50th anniversary of the Liberation of France M-10 tank destroyer.
11/23/2006 A big Corgi Update. I updated the WWII page with photos of the 50th Anniversary Sherman "Thunderbolt". On the Corgi Classics page, I added more pictures of a mint AMX recovery tank with figures - still in the plastic! I also added an old Bedford MK High Canvas Back
and 25lb gun from the Corgi Fighting Vehicles series. On the Corgi Showcase page, I added a Churchill, the NEW King Tiger, two Stuarts, a cool Panzer IV, and a Sherman. Also some pictures from the new Corgi Wheelz Night Force Collection - making their debut in the UK. On the Corgi WWII page I added a Sherman M4A3 from the WWII Heroes series: "Italy, The Race to Messina and Beyond", and "old stock" bargain I picked up. A nice Sherman! Finally, on the Comparison page, I have some pictures comparing the Corgi versions of the Sherman "Cool Stud" and the Dragon Armor version (Corgi 1:50, Dragon 1:72 and Corgi Showcase (about 1:87)).
11/18/2006 I added a new banner to my Recognition model page, and you can now get to it via www.wwiirecognitionmodels.com. On the page I added a bunch of pictures of Dale models, as well as some reminisces from Dick S. (thanks Dick!) I add some pictures of a Framburg ship which clearly show the Framburg logo  (thanks Craig S!) . I also added a section on cardboard sihoutte models issued by the US military.  (Thanks to eBay member wingedprop!).
11/12/2005 I added a catalog cover to the CDC armor page from a 2006 catalog. I added comparison pictures of the Altaya Panther to the CDC Armor Panther, and the the CDC Sherman and the Dragon Sherman (on the Comparison page). On the Altaya page, I added a Panther, Merkava, IS2, and a Crusader II. On the Matchbox page, I added pictures of the new release Battle kings sets.
11/5/2006 I added pictures of the 21st Century Brummbar and Panzer IV D to the 21st page, as well as pictures from the .vs Twin packs. On the Admiral page I added pictures of several of the Admiral prototypes, including the Walker Bulldog, German 88, US Howitzer, SU 86, and Japanese Ki Shi tank.
10/15/2006 Created a new page for Easy Model - preassembled 1/72 plastic tanks. Fairly good tanks, with some nice models not yet made by Dragon or FOV. I have pictures of the British AS-90, 2 versions of the Ferdinand (the winter version is nice), two JS-3's, a Maus, 3 M113's, a Morser self propelled siege mortar, two Pershing's, and a LCM 3...how's that for an update! :-)

9/10/2006 I added the two new Dragon Armor Sherman's, including the Dragon rendition on "Cool Stud" from the 761st tank battalion. I also included side-by-side comparison pictures of the Corgi 1:50, Dragon 1:72 and Corgi 1:87 (approx) versions of Cool Stud. On the Minichamps/Danbury Mint page I added pictures of the Danbury Mint pewter Sherman in 1:50 scale.
9/3/2006 I added several pictures comparing the FOV 1/72 Enthusiast tanks to the Action series tanks. On the FOV 1/32 page, I added a scan of the 2006 brochure. On the Johnny Lightning page, I added a picture of the "Hoguns Heroes" Kubelwagen. Finally, on the Dinky page, I added a picture of a howitzer and a rare 151a tank (thanks George B)
8/26/2006 I added the Dragon Armor catalog from 2005, and the Solido Catalog from 2005. An interesting point is that Solido appears to also be marketing Forces of Valor vehicles! On the CDC page I added pictures of the yellow airforce tanker  truck, two helicopter, and expanded the section on the background on CDC, including information on the founder, Dino Coppola. Finally, I added pictures of the Corgi M106 mortar carrier to the Corgi Viet Nam/Korea page. One of the few models models with interior detail. I archived the What's new information for 2002-2005. Finally, I added two new links: Hobby Master Collector, a collector's site featuring aircraft and armor from Hobby Mater Limited, and www.diecast72.com, dedicated to 1/72 scale armor!
8/19/2006 I added an armored car with Ammo trailer to the Crescent page. I added several Galoob "balze and Roar" tanks to the Galoob page. On the Pegasus page, I added a Leopard, Merkava, and LCPT7. On the Other page, I added a Tootsie Toy Ft-17, the Tamiya STUG (very nice) and 2 tanks from Axis and Allies, a Sherman and a Panzer.
7/16/2006 I added the 1:18 Panzer IV from New Millennium to the RC page and the New Millennium page. On the Zylmex page, I added some pictures of some very odd color variations of the Roughnecks (half tank, half truck - a bizarre creation of the early 70's) as well as the American Monitor version. I added a Verem cast hull Sherman (very nice for Solido) and a Verem Bussing Nag to the Solido/Verem page. I also added the 40th D-Day anniversary set, featuring a Panther, Sherman, Truck, and Bussing Nag. Finally, I added pictures from the Corgi Diorama "D-Day Surrender" featuring a Sherman. I also added a Bedford wireless truck and a VERY COOL German halftrack with a AA gun!
6/18/2006 I added several Warhammer 40,000 tanks to the Future tanks page.  On the Dragon Can.do page, I added the E100 and Maus - 2 versions of each. On the Universal page, I added several of the vintage M*A*S*H vehicles from the 70's. Finally, I added the Tiger Ausf H to the Corgi History Channel page.
5/29/2006 I added the Corgi  Collection Heritage AMX recovery tank to the Corgi Classics page. This series was released in France, celebrating French heritage. I added several models to the Corgi Showcase page, including a COOL Sherman with a Panther face, a Scimitar tank, and Huey and Blackhawk helicopters. Many additions to the Recognition models page. First, pictures of two Framburg Armored cars. Important to note that the wheels are molded as one piece to the chassis. Also comparison picks to the Dale version, with axles and wheels which roll.Thanks James! I also added pictures of a Wiking Models USS Hood, several pictures pictures of my own Goebel Stug (as well as more information on Goebel), and several wooden models of a Churchill, T-34, Tiger, KV-1 and a Sherman! 5/14/2006 I added pictures of a TinToys military jet to the TinToys page, I added pictures of the Wheeler Tiger tank to the Wheeler page (thanks Bernie!). Finally, I added pictures of the M42 Twin AA gun to the Authenticast page (thanks Frank!)
5/13/2006 I added an amphibious Jeep and a picture of a "Chamerz" branding package (thanks Allan) to the Playart page. I added the 2005 Matchbox military release; a fivepack, including a Sherman, Bradley, and Hummer.I also added two of the Heroes releases. I forgot to mention that last release of the Authenticast page also has the Daimler car (no 5008) and a lot more information on the Qualicast re-releases. I added the Stug IV to the 21st Century page - a nice model! Finally, I added images from the last half of 2006 Corgi Catalog, as well as some images from the UK catalog releases.
4/29/2006 I added the T-99E1 self propelled gun to the Authenticast page. I added the a Panhard to the DeAgostini page. Finally, I added the STUG IV to the Dragon Armor page. NICE!
4/9/2006 I created a new page for Altaya 1/72 tanks, including the King Tiger, Tiger, Abrams, Sherman, T-34 and Jagdpanther. I also added pictures of the Master Fighter 1:48 figures to the Gaso.line page. Finally, I am experimenting with the RSS feeds. These XML pages (or "feed"s)  are a summary of Web content that is updated on a regular basis, allowing users to keep informed of a Web site's latest changes. I am trying this out with the What's New page. You will need a reader like SharpReader. Feel free to email me with comments.

4/1/2006 Update the CDC Armour page with 2 military trucks. Updated the Corgi Showcase page with an Abrams, Bradley, Hummer, and Apache helicopter. Also include information on the re-branding from Corgi Showcase to Corgi Collection and 2006 releases.
3/26/2006 I added the Hornisse to the Dragon Armor page. WOW! Very detailed, and excellent model! I added a new page dedicated to Universal Toys. Universal manufactured tanks for many years under many brands.
3/19/2006 I updated the Polistil page with photos of the M60 and Leopard provided by Chris. I also update the Dragon Armor page with pictures of the LCM(3) landing craft.
3/12/2006 I created a new page for New Millennium toys, makers/distributors of 1:144 plastic, 1:43 diecast, and 1:18 RC tanks. I have started with the 1/144 plastic tanks: Sherman, Panzer IV, M18, Tiger, King Tiger, and Panther. I also updated the Yat Ming Page with many new vehicles including: MLRS, SPG, halftrack, scout car, M60 tank, Missile carrier, a Sherman variant...and more.
3/5/2006 I created a page for DeAgostini. DeAgostini released a series of diecast military models in 2003. While many were re-release of the Vitesse Victoria lineup, there were also several very nice models made for DeAgostini by Criel Models of Italy. I added the WWII era GMC truck to the Minichamps page. Finally, I added US Army WWII halftrack (with figures)  and a Berliet carrier with AMX tank to the Solido/Verem page.
2/24/2006 I added a new page devoted to Real Tanks. I have posted pictures from my recent trip to the Imperial War Museum in London. Among the Tanks are T34/85, Jagpanther, WWI Mark V, Sherman, Matilda, Lee, and a Churchill.
